🚆 Zurich Airport to Sargans
Train (Best Option)
Trains depart every 30-60 minutes from the airport's underground station. Journey time: 50-75 minutes. Ticket: CHF 25-30 one-way.

⏰ Swiss Punctuality
Swiss trains run exactly on time. If it says 14:37 departure, it means 14:37. Not 14:39. Be at the platform 2-3 minutes early.
🚌 Sargans to Vaduz by Bus
LIEmobil buses (routes 11 and 12) run every 20-30 minutes. Journey time: 20-25 minutes. Cost: CHF 3-4 (included if you have through-ticket).
Bus stops are directly outside Sargans train station. Follow signs for "Liechtenstein". Buses are modern, clean, reliable.
The border is invisible—no passport checks, no customs. You'll barely notice you've entered a different country.
Key stops: Vaduz Post (city center), Schaan Zentrum, Balzers. From Vaduz, buses continue to Malbun (ski resort) and mountain villages.
🚗 Alternative: Rental Car
All major rental companies at Zurich Airport: Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Sixt. Drive time to Vaduz: 1h 15min (120km).
Route: A3 toward Chur → A13 toward Sargans → exit at Sargans → Route 16 into Liechtenstein.
Swiss Vignette Required: CHF 40 annual highway sticker. Buy at rental desk or border. Mandatory. Fines: CHF 200 without it.
Speed limits: 120km/h motorways, 80km/h rural roads, 50km/h in towns. Speed cameras common—fines are steep.
