💡 Adventure Tips

  • 🤿 Dive insurance essential—DAN (Divers Alert Network). Indonesia has decompression chambers but evacuation expensive without insurance
  • 🏄 Reef breaks hurt—booties/reef shoes essential. Coral cuts infected easily. First aid kit, antibiotic cream. Take seriously
  • 🥾 Volcano treks: hire guide always. Weather changes fast, trails confusing, safety issues. Don't solo trek. around $20-40 guides worth it
  • 🏥 Travel insurance covering adventure activities—standard policies exclude diving, volcano trekking. World Nomads good option
  • 💪 Be honest about fitness—Rinjani is HARD. Many quit halfway. Batur is easy. Know limits, choose appropriate trek
  • 🌊 Currents strong—Komodo, Nusa Penida, Uluwatu. Respect ocean. People drown. If unsure, don't go. Locals know conditions
