But the landscape—mopane woodland, open grassland, ancient river valleys—and wildlife reward every challenge.

Bush driving skills matter enormously in Botswana. Learn tyre deflation for sand (1.4-1.6 bar), recovery techniques (hi-lift jack, sand ladders), and navigation before heading into remote areas. Many operators in Maun and Kasane offer half-day 4WD orientation sessions.
