Canyoning and white-water sports
Ardèche gorges offer canyoning—rappelling waterfalls, sliding natural chutes, swimming gorges. Guided trips €40-80. May-Sept season.

Rock climbing: Fontainebleau near Paris for bouldering (world-famous), Verdon for multi-pitch, Calanques for cliff climbing.
Climbing gyms in cities—practice indoors, connect with partners, prepare for outdoor. Paris has many (MurMur, Arkose). Day pass €15-20.
