Where to Stay
Find your perfect accommodation in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
The wind through the rigging. The clinking of halyards. A crane on the bow lifting your bag from the dock to the catamaran while a barefoot woman pours rum punch into a cup with ice. This is what an arrival on the Grenadines can look like.
But choosing where to stay here is more complicated than on a single-island destination. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a country of 32 islands. Each one feels like a different country. Bequia runs at the speed of a 1970s village. Mustique is the private domain of about 500 people, half of them celebrities. The Tobago Cays are uninhabited. Saint Vincent itself is a working island that most visitors barely see.
The choice you make — one base, two bases, or a hopping itinerary — shapes everything. The good news: distances are short, ferries are cheap, and the trade winds are kind.
📍 Best Places to Stay in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
Six areas, six very different experiences. Most travellers pick one base for a calm trip or two bases for variety. Picking three or more bases inside a one-week visit usually means too much time on ferries and not enough on the beach.

💰 Money-Saving Tips
- Stay on Saint Vincent, day-trip to Bequia: Hotels on the south coast of Saint Vincent are dramatically cheaper than equivalent properties on Bequia. Take the $9.3 morning ferry to Bequia for the day and return at 17:00 — you keep the savings without missing the island.
- Book directly with small Bequia guesthouses: Several Port Elizabeth guesthouses (Gingerbread Suites, The Sweet Retreat) have their own websites and offer better rates than Booking.com when you book direct via email or WhatsApp.
- Service charge and VAT: Most Saint Vincent and Grenadines hotels add 10% government tax and 10% service charge on top of the room rate. Confirm whether your quoted rate is “all-in” or “plus tax” before comparing properties.
- Avoid Christmas–New Year and February: Peak season runs December through April but two windows are particularly extreme — the Christmas–New Year week and February US school break. May, June, October and November offer the same trade winds and lower rates.
- Long-term rentals: Monthly stays on Bequia and Saint Vincent often cost 30–40% less per night than nightly rates. Negotiate directly with owners on Airbnb or local rental sites.
