Bieszczady wilderness—remote mountains
Bieszczady Mountains (southeast Poland) are wild, remote, least populated region. Brown bears, wolves, European bison roam forests and meadows.
Main Ridge Trail (Główny Szlak Beskidzki segment) crosses highest peaks—Tarnica, Krzemień, Połonina Wetlińska. Multi-day trek, mountain hostels along route.
Połoniny are high mountain meadows—treeless, vast, beautiful. June-July wildflowers peak. Grazing horses, sheep give pastoral character.
