💡 Insider Tips
- 📅 Book Ladakh/Spiti trips months ahead (June-Sept only season)—permits, accommodation, guides limited. Peak season July-Aug fills fast
- 🏔️ Altitude sickness real—spend 2-3 days in Leh (3,500m) before trekking/rafting. Hydrate constantly, avoid alcohol, climb slowly. Diamox helps some people
- 🎫 Check operator licenses—government-certified essential for rafting/trekking. Reviews on TripAdvisor/Google. Avoid touts, book through reputable hostels/hotels
- 🧊 Ladakh/Himachal cold even summer—layers essential. Temperatures drop fast at altitude. Proper gear makes or breaks experience. Rent in Leh/Manali if needed
- 🚫 Monsoon (July-Aug) closes most adventure activities—rivers too dangerous for rafting, treks muddy/leech-infested, roads washed out. Sept-Nov perfect season
